Due to a large number of recent bicycle donations, we currently cannot accept any more bicycles. Once we work our way through our existing inventory, we will be happy to accept more bicycles. If you would still like to contribute, a monetary donation is always welcome. Thank you for your generosity!
Foster Bikes relies on donations to keep working. Whether you donate money to buy supplies, bikes which we clean and fix, or any other product we need, your help is very much appreciated.
While Foster Bikes needs children’s bikes, money is just as important to us. To donate, please use PayPal, or send us a message at email@example.com if you would like to donate money in a different way.
How Your Money Helps
Foster Bikes’ staff and board members are unpaid volunteers. This allows us to use our proceeds to make a difference. The money you donate is put directly towards items such as chain cleaners, brake cables and tire repair parts.
Do you have a used child’s bike you would like to donate? Great! To show our appreciation for your donation, we try to make it as easy as possible for you to donate a bike. Fill out the form below and we will contact you. Don't worry about having to drive numerous miles to drop off the bike! Once again, we want to make this process as easy as possible for you. We will arrange a date and time to come pick up the bicycle you want to donate. Have multiple bikes you would like to donate? Just fill out the same form below and when we contact you, let us know.
Please note that we operate in the Mukilteo area in Snohomish County. If you live outside our pick up area and would still like to donate a bike, please let us know by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will try our best to find a solution that works.
Donating Other Items
Do you have another type of item you would like to donate? We accept all sorts of other items as well. Bike stands, assorted tools, and new kids helmets are just some of the things that can really help us out. If you would like to donate any of these items, please let us know by sending an email to email@example.com.
Bike Donation Criteria
To help Foster Bikes keep its goal to donate quality bikes to kids, we have some requirements for what condition the bikes can be in when they are donated. We ask for you to ensure the bikes you would like to donate meet all of the criteria below before contacting us about your donation.
Foster Bikes would like bikes that are:
- Mechanically working
- Look good
- Meant for toddlers, children, or teenagers
Unfortunately, due to storage facilities and costs, Foster Bikes cannot accept bikes that are:
- Bent, deformed, or broken
- Rusted in multiple areas
- In need of serious or costly repairs
- Missing multiple parts or key parts (wheels, handle bars, etc.)
- Antique or difficult to operate (unicycles, track bikes, penny-farthings, etc.)
